Upper GI surgery
Laparoscopic cholecystectomy
Laparoscopic cholecystectomy is a clinical procedure that’s performed to remove the gallbladder. Dr Singh performs a minimally invasive cholecystectomy to treat cholecystitis, gallstones and gallbladder polyps.
Gastroscopy
A gastroscopy is a surgical examination of the upper gastrointestinal tract that includes the oesophagus, stomach and upper bowel region (duodenum). A gastroscopy is conducted to check for gastritis, stomach cancer and ulcers.
Recovery after gastroscopy
After a gastroscopy, the patient is taken to the recovery room. The patient may return home as soon as the anaesthetic wears off. A lift must be arranged in advance as the patient will not be able to drive after a gastroscopy. Dr Singh will discuss post-operative care instructions and diet restrictions after the procedure.
